Falling just shy of 8,000m, Gyachung Kang is the highest peak in the world under 8000m, making it the fifteenth highest globally overall. Despite only missing the 8,000m mark by 48m, it is relatively less known as a result. It is also the highest peak between Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Mount Everest (8,848m).
