Description
Les Grandes Jorasses lie on the Mont Blanc massif on the border between France and Italy. It is considered to be one of the most striking summits on the entire massif. It comprises a number of summits, the highest of which is Pointe Walker (4,208m), named after the British Alpine Club President Horace Walker, the first ascender of the summit in 1868. Its other peaks are Pointe Whymer (4,184m), Pointe Croz (4,110m), Punta Elena (4,045m), Punta Margherita (4,066m) and Pointe Young (3,996m).
